ILCB's monthly newsletter N°9 - December 15th, 2021
Institute of Language, Communication and the Brain Bringing together experts in linguistics, neuroscience, psychology, medicine and computer science to understand and to model how language functions.

Dear members of the ILCB,

The year 2021 is coming to an end. We worked hard, financed and supported more than 30 projects, hired talented students and postdocs, strengthened the CREx with a Franziska Geringswald, a new engineer, relaunched the seminars and lunch talks, made it through a cut-throat evaluation and… we’re still breathing!

In this context, a very special “thank you” goes to Nadera BUREAU for all the time and energy she spends on making things work! In a world of rules and bureaucratism, this is far from obvious. We are lucky to have her! And thanks to you all for making the ILCB a lively and exciting place.

I look forward to seeing you in 2022. In the meantime, I wish you a great holiday and un bon bout d’an  !

Best wishes,

Johannes

« Tel le baron von Mùnchhausen qui, pour se sortir du fossé dans lequel il est tombé, s'agrippe à sa propre chevelure, l'homme se fonde sur sa propre subjectivité pour s'extraire de l'ordre du vivant. » Et le langage...? Est-ce qu'il nous sépare de l'ordre du vivant?
