Dear members of the ILCB community,

Many of us just got back from the annual scientific retreat of the ILCB on the beautiful island of Porquerolles. Marie Montant dreamt up an amazing program with keynote conferences by Martin Pickering and Fabienne Delfour (portraiyed below), presentations of our docs and postdocs, discussions with the project groups, and a half-day excursion to the neighbouring island Port-Cros.

Although many of you couldn’t make it, the retreat gathered about 80 ILCB members, showing once more that ILCB has become a big family. Thanks a lot again to the organizers, in particular Nadera Bureau, Sabrina Rodrigues, and Marie Montant.

We are already in mid-April. The time is ripe to attract and prepare motivated students to apply for our ILCB PhD grants. Remember that each candidate for an ILCB PhD grant must be supervised by at least two members of the ILCB from two different laboratories. The selection procedure is detailed here. The deadline is June 12.

This is the last time we can offer 3 PhD grants because ILCB funding from France 2030 runs out at the end of 2025, so don’t miss the opportunity! 

Also, don’t forget to register for our ILCB summer school that will be held at the CIRM Luminy campus from Monday August 28th to Friday September 1st, 2023.  You can find information about the program and the accommodations online.
