Leonor Becerra

Leonor Becerra is an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences – HDR) in Computer Science at Aix-Marseille University since December 2020. She is a member of the Natural Language Processing team (TALEP) at the Laboratoire d’Informatique et Systèmes (LIS).

Leonor develops her research program at the intersection of linguistics and computer science. Her goal is to develop computational systems that learn to understand and speak natural languages from multimodal data, inspired in the way children learn their native language. She also applies this research to solve Natural Language Processing tasks. Leonor’s current research is focused on modelling different linguistic phenomena in natural conversations by integrating a large set of multimodal cues, such as audio, video, text, and neurophysiological data.
